ABOUT MS. SONAL GOEL, IAS

A Company Secretary and L.L.B graduate, Ms. Sonal cleared the Civil Services Examination (CSE) in 2008 with AIR 13. She has served as DM, SDM, ADM, CEO, and State project director (Sarva Shiksha Abhiyaan) in various districts and cities of India. Ms. Sonal has earned recognition and was felicitated with many awards including Best Practice by Govt. Of Tripura for initiative ‘Nandini’ (2016), SKOCH National Award for Solar City Project, Faridabad (2016), and received SKOCH Order of Merit for GMCBL’s response to COVID-19 in Gurugram (2019). Ms. Sonal is a TEDx speaker and has spoken on ‘Challenge the Prevailing Real and Redefine Reality’

Her 12 years of vast experience as an IAS officer in India and her belief that youth should dare to dream has inspired her to educate future civil service officers. In this one-of-a-kind ‘Career Conversation Class with Unherd India’, Ms. Sonal plans to share her knowledge, skills, and learnings online with a few students (13-20-year-olds) – an experience Ms. Sonal wishes she had when in school.

Who is eligible to attend?

You can attend this session if you are a citizen of India aged between 13-20 years and curious to learn about a career on Civil Services. Students are expected to have strong internet with access to a computer, laptop or iPad.
