Mindful Career Planning for Your Child

A Free session for Parents on helping their children choose the right career choice.

Parents, do you question how you can assist your child with planning and preparing for their future? Do you feel unsure about how to help your child with choosing a career path that is right for them? Therefore, Unherd India in association with Mindful Parenting Program (MPP) is conducting a Free session for parents on ‘Helping Your Child with Career Choices’ on Sunday, February 7th, 11 AM to 12:30 PM IST.

The session will offer tips and tools for parents to use with their children to help them explore career options while actively researching offbeat career options, which will help them make informed career decisions for their children.

Parents whose children are in the age group of 13-20-years are encouraged to attend the session.

MEET THESE SPEAKERS:

Mindful Parenting Program (MPP) is an initiative by the Kaveri Group of Institutes (KGI), Pune, which was started in collaboration with Greater Good Science Center (GGSC)
at the University of California, Berkeley, USA.

Mrs. Malati.S.Kalmadi

The Managing Trustee & Secretary of Kannada sangha, Mrs. Malati is the pivot around which the Kaveri Group of Institutes runs. An educationist, par excellence she has a done her postgraduation in English and Media and Communications. Besides this, she also has earned a degree in School Psychology from Jnana Prabhodini. The spectrum of Mrs. Malati’s work is immense. Some of the notable contributions are- a pioneer in setting up a counseling unit at Kaveri Group of Institutes for K-12, establishing the Kaveri Gifted Education & Research Centre, and helming the project – Mindful Parenting Program under the guidance of Greater Good Science Centre, University of California, Berkeley.

Swaathi Kakarla (CTO, AI Specialist)

An avid coder since the age of 15, Swaathi started the company, Skcript during her college days and has since expanded to Dubai, Chennai, and Bangalore. Swaathi is a core contributor for Ruby on Rails and runs the Women Tech Maker program in collaboration with Google.

Team Saantvan (Psychologists)

Saantvan is a team of qualified Psychologists who have experience in conducting psychological assessments for individuals, adolescents, and adults. Started by Minal Mohite and Surbhi Joshi, the Mumbai based psychologists are both trained counsellors who are passionate about the field of mental health in India.

Elvin Jacob (Photographer)

Elvin Jacob is a leading photographer who clicks everything that most people regret after they’ve had them – weddings, food, and babies. 🙂 He has been shooting weddings across India since 2011 and has been featured extensively in national media including The Times of India, Deccan Chronicle and SpiceRoute among others. In the more recent past, he has worked with leading food brands like Nandus Chicken, Krispy Kreme, Barbeque Nation, Chai Point, and FreshMenu on their product imagery.

Before becoming a full-time photographer, he had an exciting run in the Indian Broadcast Journalism & Communication Industry for over seven years. From producing shows for the NDTV Group to working on communication strategies for startups like Flipkart & CaratLane, he got to acquire a wide range of skillsets.

Living in his twenty-second home on the outskirts of Bengaluru, with his wife and three-year-old daughter, Elvin is a full-time photographer now who left his corporate job to pursue his passion of clicking emotions.

Tara Khandelwal (Editor & Writer)

A graduate of Barnard College, Columbia University, Tara currently works with Asia’s largest literary agency, Writers’ Side. She has worked with Penguin, BloombergQuint, SheThePeople.TV and more. She is the founder of Bound which provides skill building for creatives through writers’ retreats, workshops, writing coaching, and editorial services.

How much does it cost?

The session is absolutely free for parents and students. Invitation details with Zoom link will be shared with the participants 4 days before the session.

Who is eligible?

The program is for parents whose children are studying in grades 8 to 12 that are curious or confused about their career decision. Children are welcome too, however, parents are encouraged to attend.

The session is planned on Zoom for Sunday, February 7th from 11 AM to 12:30 PM IST.
