Unherd India is offering a Certified Finance Program for a few students (13-20-year-olds) to learn finance and accounting concepts from experienced Chartered Accountants (CA) and Investment Bankers who share their learnings and knowledge. Join the live Classes to make an informed career decision while you learn the key life-skill of managing finances. Student selection based on the application form and phone interview round.
Session 1 (Sat, March 6th, 3 PM to 4:30 PM IST)
Managing Personal Finances – Art of Budgeting (Income, expenses, saving, debt repayment, student loans, credit cards).
Session 2 (Sun, March 7th, 10:30 AM to 12 noon IST)
Background of accounting. What is accounting. Purpose of accounting with case based examples.
Session 3 (Sat, March 13th, 3 PM to 4:30 PM IST)
Saving and Investing (Understand different asset classes – RE, Fixed Income, Bullion, Stocks), Power of compound interests.
Session 4 (Sun, March 14th, 10:30 AM to 12 noon IST)
Difference between Finance and accounting. Accounting concepts. Introduction to accounting terms. Type of business organisations.
Session 5 (Sat, March 20th, 3 PM to 4:30 PM IST)
Investment Banking – What is it, how to become an I Banker, M&A, IPO.
Session 6 (Sun, March 21st, 10:30 AM to 12 noon IST)
Recording transactions and rules with exercises.
Session 7 (Sat, March 27th, 3 PM to 4:30 PM IST)
Funding a company (Various stages- Angel, VC, PE, IPO) Using a company case study learn the evolution of various stages.
Session 8 (Sun, March 28th, 10:30 AM to 12 noon IST)
Balance sheet and P&L Statement.
Session 9 (Sun, April 4th, 10:30 AM to 12 noon IST)
High level introduction to globally accepted accounting principles. Career opportunities and Salary expectation in Accounting.
What will I Learn?
This is an intensive program for those who aspire to become accountants, investment bankers, and finance professionals. Students will learn to read financial statements, chalk out models, and build a strong foundation in accounting with an end goal to learn about a career in finance. The curriculum is specially curated by the experienced professionals who plan on helping students make an informed career decision through pratical assignments, case studies and real-world examples – a mentoring experience not typically found in high-school or college curriculum!

Meet your mentors
An investment and portfolio associate, Keshav Bagri works at Acumen Fund where he manages the Consumer, Education, Financial Inclusion, and Energy portfolio. Also, he looks for new investment opportunities in EdTech, AgriTech, FinTech, SkillTech, and Emerging Technology for Development sectors in India. A graduate from IIM-Calcutta, Keshav holds a Masters in Business Administration. He previously worked at Goldman Sachs as an investment banking analyst. Keshav is the co-founder of AJuniorVC where he aspires to build India’s most loved content platform on startups and entrepreneurship.
A Chartered Accountant (AIR 28) and commerce graduate, Ankit Bohra, has more than five years of experience in the field of accounting and finance. He has worked with one of the big four accounting companies in the past, where he has audited books of accounts for various MNC clients. Currently, Ankit is working with one of the largest employee-owned companies in the world, Mott Macdonald.

Mentorship is scheduled from March 6th to April 4th, every Saturdays and Sundays. Saturdays classes will be held from 3 PM to 4:30 PM and Sundays classes will be held from 10:30 AM to 12 noon.
