Dates and Timings: 20 August to 18 September,
every Saturday and Sunday, 10 AM to 11:30 AM IST
Mentorship Duration: 10 Sessions, 60 to 90 minutes each
spread across 4 weeks
Session 1: Introduction
What does it take to be a successful designer? Your new mentors introduce you to the professional world of design, how it evolved and the crucial role design plays in making an impact on the world.
Session 2: Design Evolution
From Cubism to Bauhaus, take a deep dive into the influential design movements from the past that will inspire you with fresh ideas. This session will help you explore new ways of working, thinking, and creating, all through the lens of design evolution.
Session 3: Design Disciplines
Get introduced to the different disciplines of Design that gives you an exposure to the diverse fields while guiding you towards a possible career choice in the creative industry that match your potential, interest and skills.
Session 4: Field Presentation
Choose a field of your choice, reflect why it influences you and share your views with the mentors. Moreover, you also discuss with the class on designs you like, the value it brings to your life and how it matches with your career interest.
Session 5: Design Process
In this session you start learning the industry-standard methods for how to approach design problems through a framework – taught through a series of case examples for you to see the direct impact design could have on human lives.
Session 6: Portfolio Guidance
Looking to apply to colleges or wish to work for a dream company? Your Portfolio makes all the difference. Learn what it takes to create an effective portfolio that not only reflects your thought process, but also let’s you stand out from other designers.
Session 7+9: Capstone Project
Students work on an impact-driven design project for the next three to four sessions under the guidance of a mentor. Teams implement their learnings from their sessions along with using design process onto their project.
Session 10: College Guidance
Get a brief understanding of how college applications work, admission differences for colleges in India vs overseas, and moreover, an optional 1:1 guidance to discuss your career ambitions.
What will I Learn?
This is an intensive program for those who wish to explore their career interest in design. The certified program is a unique industry mentoring experience not typically found in a school curriculum. So, join us for this one-of-a-kind design mentoring program, and be well informed about your career decision.

ABOUT YOUR MENTORS:
Association of Designers of India (ADI) is committed to promoting best practices in the profession of design in India by strengthening and promoting the capabilities of the Indian design profession, as well as amplifying and presenting a unified voice to influence public policy, shape the industry and benefit the people at large. ADI’s vision is to be a world class network representing professional interests of Indian Design community, creating a meaningful interface between Design Professionals, people as Users, the Industry, Education Institutions and the Policy Makers. ADI is managed by the National Executive Committee (NEC) who are elected biennially by members. The NEC is responsible for running ADI, creating regional chapters and elected local Chapter Managing Committees (CMC), formulating policies and initiating projects to promote design and the interests of its members.
Nirali Mehta
Nirali Mehta is an entrepreneur, designer and an artist, currently based out of Delhi. A NIFT graduate, she has a decade-long experience in designing luxury jewellery for leading brands, including Tanishq and Zoya, and now offers her expertise as a design consultant.
After pursuing design management at Parsons the School of Design, she co-founded ‘STRETCHERY‘, a homegrown, sustainable active wear brand that aimed to positively impact the maker, the wearer, and the environment. Nirali is passionate about working at the intersection of design, business and art, often exploring the edges of all things creative. As a design and brand consultant, her endeavour is to question the norm and re-imagine the way we look at and make things, with an end goal to create a sense of delight.
An outdoor fitness enthusiast and nature lover, she often oscillates between exploring complex expressions and simple thoughts through her illustrations artworks.
Madhavi Sahu
A Retail and Design professional with 14+ years of experience across National & Global brands in the Asian/Indian landscape. Madhavi’s focus has been in Brand & Design strategy, Concept-to-retail launch, and Marketing for Premium products.
Over the years she has been fortunate to build a strong understanding in Lifestyle accessories & Premium retail experiences, with a cross functional skill-set in Design, marketing, creative strategy, and product development. A substantial experience in Retail projects with an emphasis on Design thinking has thus given her expertise & the ability to understand various product and consumer life cycles.
Having graduated from NIFT – National Institute of Fashion Technology, a leading design institute in India, in 2005, Madhavi has remained an active guest faculty with them and also a core member of ADI – Association of Designers of India.
Ravi Jangir
Ravi has an experience executing design projects from ideation to production in stipulated timelines with emphasis on functional aspects, usability & ergonomics. Passionate about translating emerging technologies into successful products.
His experience so far has been around user research, gap-need analysis, product design & development, user experience, product market fit, packaging & label design, standard specific documentations, etc. Frugality is something that comes to him naturally. Breaking down complex problems to simpler & its basic form is his core strength.
