Unherd, in collaboration with fashion designer, Archana Rao is offering an online mentorship class in Fashion Design for students (13-18-year-olds) interested to explore the fashion industry. A certified course exclusively for high-schoolers looking to possibly pursue studies in fashion. So, those who need career guidance or wish to learn the skills required to succeed in the profession — here’s the opportunity to be mentored exclusively by India’s leading fashion designer, Archana Rao herself!

CURRICULUM
This is an interactive online program for teenagers who wish to explore a career in Fashion Design. The curriculum is curated by Fashion Designer, Archana Rao where she hones student’s creative and technical skills required to become a successful fashion designer. In this one-of-a-kind mentorship, Archana plans on sharing her knowledge, techniques, and skills that will help students get career-ready!
Introduction
Get introduced to the professional life of a fashion designer. Ask the expert about colleges, professional work hours, salary expectations, and more.
Sketching
Get skilled to draw in proportion through different mediums and styles that confidently communicates with customers & manufacturers.
Pattern Making
Learn pattern making principals and the creative process to craft your fashion ideas – get them reviewed by professional fashion designer, Archana Rao herself.
Project
Get a hands-on experience of being a fashion designer by working on an industry-relevant project and get useful feedback from an experienced professional.
ABOUT ARCHANA RAO
A NIFT graduate and National Awardee, Archana Rao is a fashion designer based in Hyderabad. Her label, Archana Rao, made its debut in the Lakme Fashion Week, 2012, after which she inaugurated her flagship store in Hyderabad. A winner of ‘Vogue India Fashion Fund,’ Archana Rao has carved a niche with her eco-friendly and decidedly feminine designs. The brand, Archana Rao, won National Award in the costumes’ category for a period drama, Mahanati (2019).
Archana Rao is collaborating with Unherd for an exclusive mentorship class for high-schoolers to teach them about careers in fashion design. She is bringing her expertise, knowledge and learnings with aspiring fashion designers to help them make informed career decisions.

How much does it cost?
If you are selected after the phone interview round, the fee for the certified mentorship program is Rs. 4550/-
When is the mentorship program?
The Mentorship is scheduled from January 16th, 2021 to February 20th, 2021 every Saturday from 11 AM to 12:30 PM IST.
Who is eligible?
You can apply for the mentorship if you are a citizen of India, having an interest in fashion and between the age group of 13-18 years. Students are expected to be fluent in English and have access to the internet with computer, laptop or iPad.
